Introduction

Hi everyone!

I started this page out of a desire to support our community with my 3D printer. My goal is to provide cost-effective and short lead time 3D printing with a simple cost estimator.

Equipment & Limits

Equipment:
– The Original Prusa i3 MK3S+

Limits:
– Build volume: 25×21×21 cm (9.84″×8.3″×8.3″)
– Materials: PLA, PETG, TPE, Nylon (PA6-GF)
– Support material: same as print. Supports not removed.
– Colour & Material availability: see cost estimator

PLA
General-purpose (indoors)
Recyclable bioplastic (#7)
Strong but has sudden failure
Temperature limit: 60°C
Print longevity: a few years
Highest level of detail

PETG
General-purpose (indoor/outdoor)
Recyclable (#1)
Strong and fails gradually
Temperature limit: 80°C
Print longevity: excellent
Good level of detail

TPE (Shore 85A)
General-purpose flexible; elastic
Best for o-rings, gaskets, tires, etc.
Acceptable for outdoor (UV, moisture)
Temperature limit: 70°C
Non-recyclable
Chemical resistant: Oil, fuel, hydrogen peroxide, (Degraded by: chlorine)
Print longevity: excellent
Low level of detail

Nylon (PA6-GF)
High temperature, strength, and wear resistance
Used in vehicle engine bay parts, chair glider feet, structural components, dishwasher parts.
Poor UV resistance (indoor only)
Strongest
Temperature limit: 180°C
Non-recyclable
Chemical resistant: Oil, fuel, hydrogen peroxide, (Degraded by: chlorine)
Print longevity: excellent
Good level of detail
